Welcome to Allied flight gear in WW II

Aviation has always been a challenge for mankind. Not only the machines but also the clothing and equipment they used began to change. After a whole lot of tests and experiences, the gear used by airmen started to get more focused on their needs and standarized for production. During WW II a large range of helmets, goggles, clothing, etc. were developed to protect the wearer as much as possible.
With this website I hope to provide some information on flight gear used by the Army Air Forces, Royal Air Force and other allied Air Forces throughout WW II.
Of course a wide variety of flight gear was used and it is only my intention to show a general overview of this fascinating world.
